Details for the new season
September 8, 2011
Hello everyone, a few notes for this upcoming season.
- I have listed our initial schedule below.
- As you may have noticed our pitch has been extended a little by the council which will give the boys a bit more room on the field but parents a bit less on the sidelines(!)
- Martin and I are going to be more disciplined with the boys this year and introduce a basic code of conduct for them to follow (no arguing with each other, refs, no talking when coach is talking, etc). Failure yo follow this will result in loss of playing time.
- We are over-subscribed with numbers (16 registered players) – which means that 2 boys won’t be required each week. We will therefore introduce a rotor system – in the meantime it would help greatly if you could all look at your calendars and inform me in advance of any weekends you will not be around between now and Xmas.
- The plus side is that our league is bigger this season and we have significantly more games (24 league games scheduled plus any friendlies), so should be plenty of games to go round.
- New kit and equipment is now all paid for. Subs are now back to £2 and will be for foreseeable future. Not sure what we will spend this on yet – tracksuits for training would be good, these could be ready for deep winter…
- SUFC seniors are playing at home in a cup match this Saturday. Our boys have the opportunity to meet the players and be official mascots (ie walk out with the first team dressed in their full SUFC kit) – as well as watch the game of course. If you are interested please text me.
